Vision

Transitional Center believes that in order to be THE TOP ILLINOIS PROVIDER of quality services and care, TCI needs to hold and maintain the highest expectations and standards of its staff, treatment, programming, care and services provided to youth. All staff, starting with the CEO and COO, to the TCI Admin team and then to direct care staff, frontline kitchen staff, custodial staff and everyone in between should be thoroughly trained in TCI policies and procedures, licensed or skilled in the position assigned to and last but certainly not least, must have a youth-centered approach at everything we do at TCI.

Purpose

  • To provide an alternative placement that provides therapeutic, transitioning and academic services to youth that have been placed in juvenile detention centers, jail and other placements.

  • To give youth a chance to learn the skills and acquire the tools necessary to turn past negative experiences into future success stories by focusing on the strengths of our youth, building on these strengths to improve their self-esteem, self-worth and overall view of a positive and successful future.

Privacy, Dignity and Respect

In order to ensure that each youth receives high quality treatment, Transitional Center Inc. creates a milieu where the fundamental privacy, dignity and respect of youth, staff and all members of the residential community are protected and nurtured at all times. A milieu that fosters human dignity and respect exists when youth and staff members feel socially, emotionally and physically safe, when there is mutual respect between youth, staff, parents or guardians, and when youth self-expression and self-esteem are supported.  In order to maximize our goals, hence the Privacy, Dignity and Respect Policy is our framework that we follow daily in our everyday activities, and in our decisions and interactions with our youth and each other.
